Vintage 1974 Intel Chip Worth $4,000?

An enterprising eBay seller is offering a 1974 Intel IC chip (C3002 3002) for sale on eBay for more than $4,000.

While I know certain vintage IC chips are collectible and sell for significant dollars, I sense this chip price might be a tad aggressive. According to the seller, it is priced as it is, "due to the age of this item" and because it is "...rarely found because of the complexity and cost of building bitslice circuits."

HP 70 Calculator Owners Handbook

Up for bid on eBay is an original HP-70 calculator owner's manual (printed in July 1974).

According to VintageChip.com, the HP-70 calculator was introduced on August 1, 1974 as part of the Classic Series. It was the 2nd business calculator and 5th handheld electronic calculator. It was code named "Scrooge". The HP-70 was a very unpopular product and was discontinued after just one year, which is why it is one of the rarest calculators and hard to find in any condition.

The seller says, "I do not remember where I got this from. I have been a hp collector for over 20 years and the HP70 was the one calc that eluded me all those years. I think I got this in a box of manuals that I bought and I kep it hoping that I would one day match it up with the calc. I am in the process of liquidating my collection so there is no need to hold onto it now. If you are one of the lucky collectors who managed to collect the HP70. This would be a great addition to your collection. Even if you already have a manual...you may want to upgrade the manual to one that is almost pristine. 1969 Woodstock Music Festival Newspaper August 16, 1969

Up for bid on eBay is this Woodstock Music Festival newspaper dated August 16, 1969.

The seller describles the newpaper as follows: ...recalling to many events at the Aquarian Festival to mention here. This is from The Times Herald Record, of Middletown, N.Y. just 35 miles from where Woodstock took place. There are some small rips on the edges of some of the pages and some discoloration around the ecg, some lines going through the picture on the front of the paper and one picture on page 2, but all in all considering the age this is an amazing piece of history and must have for any woodstock fan. Some of the Headlines in this 9 page expose: 400,000 flood site, rock crises eases off Drug Arrests Soup kitchen set up One slept and died, one climbed and fell Hog farm -- festivals most peaceful area...

Tattoo Artist Sailor Jerry Business Card "Feminigraphics" circa 1972

Up for bid on eBay is Norman Keith "Sailor Jerry" Collins business card (circa 1972)

Sailor Jerry, according to the seller, is to tattooing what Louis Armstrong is to jazz--he wasn't the first at his craft, but he's the one who turned it into an art form. Part of his expansion of ideas was encouraging women to get tattooed, back when skin ink was considered the domain of seamen and gangsters.

The seller continues, "In 1972, the year before he died, Jerry started the "Feminigraphics" sideline to encourage woman to go under the buzzing tattoo needle. As an associate of Mike Malone, who bought Sailor Jerry's business and contents of his shop on Jerry's death in 1973, I've come into possession of Jerry's last business card. Own a piece of tattoo history and proudly display it in your shop or home."

Apple Computer Lisa 1 Poster 1982 Steve Jobs

Up for auction on eBay is this very rare Apple Computer Lisa 1 poster.

The seller says, "This poster symbolizes the System Applications that came with the Lisa 1 back in 1983. That is, the six programs that were included in the original Lisa-1 package, i.e., LisaDraw, LisaCalc, LisaList, LisaGraph, LisaProject and LisaWrite. LisaTerm was not included as it was not released until later. Of course, these programs were totally revolutionary! I mean to go from DOS commands on an IBM PC to a Lisa interface seemed by many to be impossible. But not to Steve Jobs and Apple Computer, Inc. I can remember seeing this poster at our training seminar in Cherry Hill, N.J., back in the Winter of 1983. (Anyone remember the blizzard that hit that weekend?) They emphisized the "ease of use" that the Lisa had and almost instant availablilty of commands that made it so, thanks to the Lisa Mouse and pull-down Menu's."
