5 Things About Marty Weil

I've been tagged by archivist and blogger Sally Jacobs to write "5-things" about myself (that you probably don't already know). Since Sally was thoughtful enough to include me in this "get acquainted" blogging game, I've cobbled together the following 5 things:

1. Bruce Springsteen. I'm an amateur authority on the music of Bruce Springsteen. I once won a Springsteen trivia contest sponsored by a Chicago radio station.

2. Texas Hold'em. I was Runner-Up in the 2006 JCC Poker Tournament of Champions in Charlotte. I made two Final Table appearances during the 2006 season.

3. Golden Retrievers. My heart belongs to a Golden Retriever. I loved that dog, and I miss her.

4. Libertarian. I have a long-standing rule never to talk politics with family or friends. However, truth is, because I hold the U.S. Constitution in high esteem and ascribe to the principles of Jeffersonian Democracy, I align myself with the Libertarian Party, which seems to best articulate my views.

5. No Kidding. I'm married to a brilliant, funny, beautiful, soon-to-be CPA. We don't have kids, because we're childless by choice. We are, however, expecting to become adoptive parents to another Golden Retriever in the near future.
