Paris Garters Ladies Underwear

Parisgarterssep951930_1012x14 This 1930 garter belt ad is truly a print classic. From the copy head, "And now the women are thanking us..." to the name of the product this advertisment is precious.

Paris certainly has a cache that no other town can touch, no? Even New York City, with all of its glamor and allure, doesn't have the fashion chops that are required to name a garter belt. "New York Garters" just doesn't have the same sizzle. Other cities just wouldn't cut the mustard at all, although the "Detroit Garters" would be a good name for a WNBA team.

Now you've got me thinking. I agree that New York Garters doesn't quite have the oomph that Paris does, but it's not too bad. Imagine Peoria Garters or, to take both of us back a ways, Normal Garters. (Gotta say, though, that Normal Garters is much more intriguing than Bloomington Garters or for that matter Urbana Garters.)

Here's the perfect name... well, at least I think so. What do you think of,"Bloomer Garters?" :) Makes sense, eh!
