The Ephemera Society of America's annual conference, Ephemera/28, will be held this year from March 14-16, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Old Greenwich, Connecticut.
I've always wanted to go to this event, but time and distance have conspired to keep me away. Once again, the schedule of events and speakers looks enticing. The keynote, in particular, sounds extremely interesting. It will be given by Jeremy Rowe, the author of Arizona Photographers 1850-1920 and Arizona Real Photo Postcards. Jeremy's presentation is titled, Collecting Outside the Box. The presentation will use images from several photographic modes to show how the camera documented the evolution of of Arizona from territory to statehood, while photography itself shaped public perception of Arizona and the West.
Other presentations will cover such things as papermaking, rulers, politics, and holiday letters.
A good time is sure to be had by all.
