The American Matchcover Collecting Club
The American Matchcover Collecting Club was conceived in 1986 by Bill Retskin. It is dedicated older matchcovers and match books. At its peak, the club had an active membership of over 900 collectors. Today, the AMCC hosts an annual matchcover swapfest. The AMCC is also responsible for the publication of three price guides on matchcover collecting. Membership in the new on-line AMCC is now available to matchcover and specialty collectors everywhere for $10 per year, according the club's Web site.
The site's extensive Matchcover Gallery contains images from older matchcover designs divided by themes: dogs, automobiles, airlines, beer, boats & ships, etc.
Here on the ephemera blog, I've written about vintage matchcovers before. Most notably, I conducted an interview with Big Boy matchcover collector, Michael Samuels. I've also interviewed casino matchcover collector, Joe DeGennaro.
