Johanna Alexandra “Lotte” Jacobi (1896-1990) was a German Portrait Photographer who immigrated to America to escape Nazi Germany. Her time in America was spent photographing and she became known for her candid photographs of world-famous people, such as Albert Einstein. Jacobi took many photographs of this German Physicist, all of which captured him in very private moments, which allowed the viewer to feel as if they could identify with him.
