Jack D. Hamilton, the owner of rarebookman.com, has an interesting proposition for ephemera collectors: after 30 years in business, he's selling his rare book and historic document inventory lock, stock, and barrel. He's even selling his domain name.
According to Jack, his inventory contains "drawers and notebooks" filled with un-priced and un-researched ephemera. From talking with him, it sounds as though there might be some ephemera treasures buried in his shop. Often, dealers like Jack, or others saddled with a large horde of old paper, will call on me to sort through and evaluate the ephemera in an un-researched horde. But I haven't had the pleasure of reviewing Jack's ephemera personally, so buyer beware.
Jack's goal is to sell everything to a single buyer. And the price tag is $395,000! If you're interested, click on over to rarebookman.com, and tell Jack that the ephemera blog sent you.
Wow, a very interesting read... but even more so once you look at the pictures he has supplied.
Makes one wonder why he is parting with it all... and at what seems to be a very reasonable price. (keep in mind the price does NOT include packing and shipping from Virginia to your own location)
