Bulldogs Rise in Rankings

Bulldog The venerable Bulldog is back in the American Kennel Club (AKC ) list of Top Ten most popular breeds after being absent for years. Similarly, the University of North Carolina Asheville (UNCA) Bulldogs are back in contention after years of languishing near the bottom of the ranks of college basketball's Mid Majors.

The Bulldog ranks No. 10 on the AKC list, and the UNCA Bulldog's recently ranked as high as No. 20 among Mid-Major programs.

While my favorite breed remains the happy-go-lucky Golden Retriever, I'm becoming a big fan of the scrappy Bulldogs from UNCA, especially the Bulldog's remarkable 7' 7" Center, Kenny George.
